Terms of Service
Effective August 9, 2026
DontOversleep ("we", "the service"), operated by Knightbook LLC, lets an account holder schedule wake-up confirmation text messages for themselves or for a recipient who has opted in. By creating an account or opting in to receive texts, you agree to these terms.
SMS messaging terms
When you opt in to DontOversleep wake-up check texts โ by replying YES to an invitation message, or by signing up for an account with your own phone number โ you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from DontOversleep at that number. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. The complete opt-in flow, including the exact messages we send, is documented at dontoversleep.com/sms-optin.
- You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text STOP. After you send the SMS message STOP to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, reply START or ask the account holder to send you a new invitation, and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
- If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly by using the contact form on our homepage.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages per wake-up check per day). If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
- If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read our privacy policy.
The service
DontOversleep is a best-effort reminder and notification tool. It is not a life-safety, medical, or emergency service, and it must not be relied on as one. SMS delivery depends on wireless carriers and may be delayed or fail; we do not guarantee that any message will be delivered at, or within any period after, its scheduled time.
Acceptable use
Only set up wake-up checks for people who expect them. Account holders and wake-up text recipients must be 18 or older. Recipients must opt in themselves before wake-up texts begin, and you may not use the service to harass anyone or to send anyone messages against their wishes. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.
Liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including missed wake-ups or undelivered messages.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always at dontoversleep.com/terms. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
