Privacy Policy

DontOversleep ("we", "the service"), operated by Knightbook LLC, sends scheduled wake-up confirmation text messages on behalf of its users. This policy describes what we collect and how we use it, for both the web app at dontoversleep.com and the DontOversleep iOS app.

What we collect

• Your phone number — used to create your account and sign you in via SMS code, and to send you confirmations and alerts about your wake-up checks.
• Your first name (optional) — shown to recipients so they know who set up their wake-up text.
• Recipient name and phone number — provided by you so we can invite the recipient to receive wake-up texts. Recipients must opt in themselves before any wake-up texts are sent (see "Text-message consent" below).
• Wake-up schedule and check-in history — the times, days, and confirmation status of each wake-up check, so the service can function and show you activity.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing.
• We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
• We do not access your contacts, location, photos, or any other device data.

Service providers

Text messages are delivered through Twilio, our SMS provider. Phone numbers and message content are shared with Twilio solely to deliver messages. Our servers and database are hosted on Railway.

Text-message consent (opt-in and opt-out)

DontOversleep uses SMS double opt-in. When an account holder adds a recipient, the recipient receives a single invitation text and must reply YES before any wake-up texts are sent to them. No messages other than that one invitation are ever sent without the recipient's YES. Account holders consent to receive sign-in codes and alerts about their own wake-up checks when they sign up with their own phone number.

Message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages per wake-up check). Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP to any message for help, or STOP to opt out and stop all texts immediately. Account holders can delete wake-up checks or their account data at any time.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Data retention and deletion

Account and schedule data is kept while your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, send a request through the contact form including your account's phone number, and we will remove it within 30 days.

Children

DontOversleep is not directed to children. Account holders must be 18 or older, and wake-up text recipients must also be adults (18+). We store only the name and phone number the account holder provides for a recipient, and nothing is sent until that recipient opts in themselves.
